Join us as we celebrate the recent publication of our friend Lanny Harrison’s first book, Characters in Motion: A Workbook of Theatrical & Movement Exercises. Lanny will read from her book and take us through a few of the exercises from it. Signed books will be for sale at the event, or can be ordered from the publisher.

Eight years in the making with Lanny’s collaborator and editor Jane Zipp, Characters in Motion is a workbook, with a bit of personal history. It is meant to be used and read by all sorts of people: students, teachers, theatrical and movement aficionados, art mavens, and anyone interested in theater as a path to discovery. There are photos and many of Lanny’s illustrations and paintings included in the book. The spiral binding allows the book to be laid out on a floor or table, with blank pages for note-making or sketches. The exercises have all been utilized in classes and workshops, but they are also meant to inspire new ideas.

After the presentation and exercises, there will be time for socializing and merriment. This event is free and open.
