EarthSchool [at capacity]
Wed, Nov 25, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm CLASS / WORKSHOP
EarthSchool is an herbal apprentice foundation that runs one day a week for one full year (2 1/2 months off during winter) with hands-on practical skills, garden time and classroom time for book learning. The core focus of this program is to access a better understanding of our traditional ecological knowledge that is contained within and through-out each of us. Developing a cognitive agileness to better communicate with the Natural world. And,learn basic plant identification, wellness strategies, the human constitution and self-care using medicinal herbs. Taught by Marguerite Uhlmann-Bower.
This year’s course is at capacity. We keep at-capacity events on our calendar as a way of reflecting the scope of activity that happens at Bushel. If you want to propose programming in keeping with our mission, or if you’d like to inquire about space rental, you can do so here.
Marguerite Uhlmann-Bower, R.N., Herbalist, Wild Foods Forager and Botanical Wild Crafter is co-founder of Plant Pioneers, a human-plant relations movement with a growing collective who serve to bring plant and tree intelligence to all people in fun and constructive ways. We must live like we owe our existence to the natural world because ecologically speaking, we are assemblages of species coming together as one shared whole. Marguerite integrates these concepts into educational plant identification walks and in her traditional herbalism EarthSchool Herbal Apprentice Program. Creating meaningful relationships with the natural world is key. Early on one learns to extend one’s cognition into a plants world in order to better understand their language. Class’s are solution focused and open ended for unique learning styles.
