GetWoke! Presents Kyle Bass, Playwright [online]

GetWoke! announces an online evening with playwright Kyle Bass who will perform selected readings of his work followed by a discussion and Q&A. GetWoke! co-founder Christina Hunt Wood describes Bass’s work as “powerful and poetic, capturing the complexity of emotions that come with navigating a society organize around racial caste.” There is no fee to attend the event but pre-registration is required.

Kyle Bass is author of Possessing Harriet, which was produced at Franklin Stage Company in 2019. His new play salt/city/blues will premiere at Syracuse Stage in 2021. Bass is associate artistic director at Syracuse Stage, assistant professor in the Department of Theater at Colgate University, and currently is the Susan P. Stroman Visiting Playwright at the University of Delaware. A two-time recipient of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Fellowship (for fiction in 1998, for playwriting in 2010), a finalist for the Princess Grace Playwriting Award, and Pushcart Prize nominee, Bass holds an MFA in playwriting from Goddard College, and is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America. He is represented by The Barbara Hogenson Agency.
