Jared is a father, ecologist, farmer, and educator. He is the founder of Timberdoodle Horse Logging, where he manages private woodlands for ecological timber production.
Jared has recently lead the development of agricultural programming as the Agriculture and Sustainability Programs Specialist at SUNY Adirondack, responsible for developing an agriculture business degree, implementing a diverse workplace development program, and fundraising through grants and philanthropic investment.

Jared formerly served as the Agriculture Director of the Merck Forest and Farmland Center. He also has been a Field Biologist with the Smithsonian Institute, studying migratory birds in Puerto Rico, and lead a radio telemetry study of Canada Warblers in remote upper Amazon watershed of Equador. As a co-founder of Agroforestry Management Jared combines his diverse skillset with a mission to “reforest the food system”.

New Grange gathers Catskills area farmers one night a month for unscripted social, political, and practical engagements. There are how-tos and a little rabble-rousing. Shop talk. Beer. Farmer things. We’re calling it New Grange because we don’t need to reinvent the wheel.

New Grange is organized by The National Young Farmers Coalition: Catskill chapter and is open to all farmers, farm workers, farm enthusiasts and activists.  For more information about the National Young Farmer’s coalition please visit them on Facebook or on the web.
