[Play] The Tempest, performed by Catskill Mountain Shakespeare
Thu, Apr 25, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Bushel is pleased to host Catskill Mountain Shakespeare during their 2024 spring tour of Shakespeare’s iconic play The Tempest. Director Jay Dunn brings his unique blend of dynamic ensemble movement, physical comedy, cinematic theatricality, and clowning to reinvent this timeless tale into an immersive, enchanting experience.

The Tempest begins with a sea storm and a shipwreck. The play follows the struggles and successes of Prospero and his teenage daughter Miranda who live on an isolated island with a sprite called Ariel and a creature called Caliban. Old foes and family rivals reunite and must face the truth of the past, young love blooms, and clowns run amok. The actors will play multiple characters and embody the maelstrom of elements, becoming vessels for the spirits of the island.

Doors at 7 pm. Performance begins at 7:30 pm with no intermission. A talkback session and reception will follow.

Tickets: $10-$20 sliding scale
Seating is limited, so please reserve your tickets in advance.
