Solidarity with Sudan: A Discussion on the Current Crisis
Tue, Jun 25, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

TALK / DEMO

Vastly underreported in the media, peaceful protesters in Sudan are being massacred by the military following the forced removal of president Omar Al-Bashir. This event will begin with a screening of tv clips that report on the crisis in Sudan. SUNY-Delhi History Professor Dan Gashler will present a timeline of events to-date in Sudan, and event organizer Alexis Giunta will lead a Q&A with Professor Gashler and a discussion with the audience. There will be a letter-writing station for attendees to address their concerns with their congressional representatives. Sample letters, paper/envelopes, stamps, and supplies will be provided, along with refreshments. A note to attendees that the screenings and discussion will involve graphic content.

Alexis Giunta is a recent Delaware Academy graduate and currently a journalism student at Montclair State University in New Jersey.
