Space Age Museum Documentary Release [online film screening]

Join Space Age Museum founder Peter Kleeman and filmmaker Gabe Jacobs for an online release of their documentary short about the museum and the collection, which was the subject of “Test Launch: Prototype for a Space Age Museum,” an exhibition at Bushel in 2021–22.

The Space Age Barn (2022) is a 7-minute film that looks at the history of this family project and Peter’s hopes for its future, using a mix of recent and archival footage. A Q&A will follow the screening.

Peter Kleeman is a historian of Space Age culture, a curator, and a real estate agent living in the Catskills where he aims to one day open a museum. Besides working on this lifelong project with his family, he consults with the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, NASA, and other institutions. Peter has presented his work internationally, curated exhibits in New York City and the surrounding area, as well as contributed artifacts for an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art. Gabe Jacobs is a director, cinematographer, and app developer from New York City. Currently he is a product manager at chess.com, and is studying to learn to make VR experiences.
