Tianna Kennedy and Francis Yu, Co-Executive Directors of Catskills Agrarian Alliance, will give a presentation and lead a community discussion. Refreshments will be available; please feel free to bring a dish to pass. Free and open to the public.

Tianna Kennedy is a farmer, organizer, and artist who’s spent fifteen years building resilient food systems from the Catskills to NYC. In 2015, along with Star Route Farm and The 607 CSA, she helped co-found the Greater Catskills Chapter of the National Young Farmers’ Coalition, Bushel Collective, and the Schooner Apollonia, a Hudson Valley Sail Freight venture. She is still involved with all of those projects in various roles. In 2022, Tianna was awarded a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for her service to her community by then Rep. Antonio Delgado. Her newest endeavor is Delaware Phoenix Distillery, a Draft-Power NY farm distillery growing botanicals and producing absinthe in partnership with Ryan Jahn.
Francis Yu is a queer Asian-American farmer (Star Route Farm) and works as food systems practitioner (Catskills Agrarian Alliance) where they serve as Co-director and lead the organization’s Land Access work and Strategic Planning. They have a background in urban planning and policy and serve as an Adjunct Professor at NYU Wagner School of Public Service teaching about the history of segregation, racism, and public policy in our cities. They enjoy cooking, hiking and foraging, and developing a poetry and writing practice. Francis has roots in Manila, Philippines, and in occupied Patwin territory (Vallejo, California).
The 607 CSA is a multi-farm CSA based in the Northern Catskills of New York State. They offer abundant and diverse veggie shares sourced from four collaborating vegetable farms, plus season-long add-ons of pastured meat, eggs, dairy, and other items from 40+ neighboring farms and food businesses to 40 pickup locations in upstate and downstate New York.
Catskills Agrarian Alliance is a comprehensive food sovereignty project working to establish and manage local agricultural initiatives that help to protect and promote the right of all people to healthy, culturally-appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods.
