Join us for an evening of poetry and music with traveling writers Alexandra Egan and Ariel Yelen, and musical guest Weston Minissali. Words + Music is a new bimonthly series hosted by Iris Cushing and anna moschovakis.

Alexandra Egan is a poet, designer, activist, editor, scavenger, an expert in trash, a perpetual party host and a mother. These are not in order of importance. She lives with her daughter in Bed Stuy and is currently an Emerge-Surface-Be fellow at The Poetry Project.

Ariel Yelen is the author of the poetry collection I Was Working (Fall 2024), selected by Rowan Ricardo Phillips for the Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets. Her poems have been published in BOMB, Social Text, Makhzin, The New Republic, The Baffler, and elsewhere. She lives and works in New York City.

Weston Minissali is a composer and electronic musician living in Kingston, NY. He has released 4 albums under the moniker Erica Eso, the most recent being Songs In My Pocket Like Grains Of Sand, released on May 27th, 2025 via the Chicago imprint Hausu Mountain.
