Workbasket: A Shared Making and Mending Circle
Fri, Jul 16, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Constance Hoffman leads a weekly gathering on Friday afternoons in July for anyone interested in textile handwork such as embroidery, knitting, crochet, quilting, and mending. Together we can work on our projects, start new ones, and share our knowledge. Suggested donation: $5.
COVID protocol: Although masks are not required by NY State if you are fully vaccinated, Bushel recommends mask-wearing for this indoor, around-the-table event due to Delaware County’s low-vaccination rate.
Constance Hoffman designs costumes for opera, dance, and theatre regionally, internationally, and in New York City, where she is on the faculty of the Department of Design for Stage and Film at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She descends from a long line of crafty women, and values the time spent laughing, learning, and making things in their company. Constance has explored textile painting and dyeing, embroidery, felting, knitting, and crochet, among other textile arts. She has most recently returned to her early interest in spinning and weaving and is building a warp-weighted loom behind her barn.
