Help us get free herbal medicines to the underserved and marginalized indigenous, black and brown communities afflicted with COVID and other health conditions.

Donate $25 or more to this drive. Your gift will be a 2 ounce bottle of Sweetgrass Spray (limited supplies).

The spray comes with a description on the history and use of Sweetgrass as told by Cliff Eaglefeathers and Pete Risingsun in their Cheyenne tradition. Why Sweetgrass? Native tradition says Sweetgrass is only to be gifted and shared. Robin Wall Kimmerer, a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in Braiding Sweetgrass says that when we smell the scent of Sweetgrass, it helps us remember where we came from – Mother Earth. We can’t sell Sweetgrass. It belongs to Mother Earth.  What better way is there than to live as a gifting nation.

Plant Pioneers is doing a grassroots fund raising project, as a member of and for, The People’s Wellness Initiative. Our mission is to grow and support networks of BIPOC and allied herbalists who are offering direct support to individuals and families in black and brown communities. The Sweetgrass Spray you see here is grown and prepared by Marguerite Uhlmann-Bower, a wild harvester, clinical herbalist and plant intelligence educator. This summer, she was called to prepare a limited amount of this precious plant for the purpose of helping underserved communities where 100% of proceeds goes to marginalized indigenous, black and brown communities afflicted with COVID or other health conditions. The Peoples Wellness Initiative locations at this time are in the Hudson, Delaware Co., Catskill and NYC areas.
